 BursaTurkey Bursa is a Turkish city located south of Istanbul and about 30 kilometers inland from the Sea of Marmara. Bursa is cradled along the northwestern slopes of Mount Uludağ. The city is often referred to as Yeşil Bursa - Green Bursa due to the parks and gardens scattered across its urban landscape plus the plush green forests that surround the city. It is located at the far western end of what was known as the Silk Road during the Ottoman Era and was an important center for the production of silk garments for the Ottoman Empires nobility.

The Mt. Uludağ National Park also has activities like trekking and camping during the summer. There is a cable-car system that ascends from Bursa which has an intermediate stop in the alpine meadows of Kadiyayla at about 1,200 meters or 3,937 feet of elevation. It ends at Sari Alan which is about 1,630 meters or 5,348 feet in elevation. The cable car system services the mountain during both summer and winter. Bursa sits in a beautiful location surrounded by nature as well as having a vast cultural heritage with many museums exhibiting artifacts from its historical past.
